100,000 views and 1,000 subcribers!
Hey everybody, it’s been awhile since we have done an update. I posted a cover video of “Everybody Talks” by the Neon Trees over 9 months ago and it has reached 100,000 views! That’s huge for us. It’s 1/10 of a million. It really made me think about how anything is possible. And we now have over 1,000 subscribers on our youtube channel. Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to watch our videos and to support us in our dream. This year we have a lot of plans and a lot to do. With the new year coming we have new goals and new things we are going to achieve. So we invite you all to come with us on this journey and when we make it we can celebrate and hug and kiss and cry together! :) 2013 will be our year!

Hey thank you! Where did you first hear about us?
Recording
Hey guys, so i am SUPER excited. We just started recording for 2 of our newest singles. We went to June Audio in Provo Utah and had the honor of working with Scott Wiley. He has produced several albums of a lot of big name bands (Yellowcard, Neon Trees) just to name a few. Our plan thus far is to get these two songs recorded and then work on the rest of our 5 song E.P. and then once they’re all finished we will have a huge CD release concert to commemorate. Of all the records that we have done as a band and in our musical career, this one will be the best by far. After years of trial and error, countless sleepless nights, hours upon hours of listening to the same songs over and over again…we finally know what we want. We want a big sound with enough space to fill up a room. We want people cranking their stereos and rolling their windows down while they sing their hearts out. We want people to take what we do seriously and show us the respect we deserve as fellow musicians and serious artists. I admit that it hasn’t always been like this. There was a time when our songs…weren’t exactly up to par with industry standards. When i was 18 and just barely out of high school i still had a long way to go in order to perfect my craft. Now that i’m 26 and have had so many experiences and i have a different perspective, i’m proud of these tunes.
It’s really been a long time coming. We always had a vision of how these songs would sound as compared to how they actually sound. And to be completely honest, unless you have a lot of money to use in an expensive studio…you’re going to be disappointed. That’s kind of how i have felt for the last couple of years. Releasing content that was good but not quite reaching my expectations. While that might be good enough for our fans and those that support us, it’s not nearly enough for me. But this time it’s different. We finally understand the formula and we know how to get the quality we’ve been dreaming about ever since we were just a “Local Band”. I would like to think that we have transcended that title from Local to just a band. When people think of “Local Band” they immediately think of the 4 kids in junior high/high school that use 40 guitars to play shows and recorded 5-10 songs in 2 hours using one mic and a tape player. While we did start out at the bottom…and i mean the VERY bottom, i’m proud and content to see our progress as we have risen out of the ashes to become something we always wanted to be but never seemed to be within our realm of possibility.
It took quite a bit of time, a lot of pain and in tears but we are finally where we need to be. Things are starting to piece together little by little and slowly we are seeing a greater picture form together than we ever thought possible. Our talents have been refined through the years and our priorities are set. We know what we want, we know what we are looking for and i hope that it shows in these songs. Thank you guys for letting me get out some of my thoughts and i truly hope that this message finds you all well. Til we meet again, best wishes

400 songs
So most of you probably already saw on our Facebook page that I recently finished writing my 400th song. This is a huge deal for me since i just started writing in 2004. I was 17 years old when i first picked up a guitar and thought to myself “Girls dig a guy that can play an instrument” and as it turns out…that’s not true at all. JK, but seriously. So i took a beginners guitar class with my good friend Derek Crowell (bassist) and within a few months I started to realize my true love for music. The first song i ever wrote is called “All You Have To Do”. It was my first of many sappy love songs that illustrates the overcoming of trials and of love and all that good stuff. Being my first song, it wasn’t a bad attempt. However, comparing it with my 400th song “In Front Of Me” really helped me to see my growth as a writer, lyricist, composer and even as a person. I discovered that over time certain things became more important to me and found their way into many of my songs. Certain topics and themes seems more meaningful then just writing a cute song that will make all the girls sigh. It’s a way for me to take a piece of my heart and soul and put it into words and music. And if i’m doing it right, hopefully you guys feel that connection when you listen to them. So whether you hear my songs and you’re happy or sad or alone and you feel like my words are meant just for you, that’s when i know that i’m being successful. This is how i fulfill my calling as a musician. An advocate for those who don’t know how to say what they feel. I attribute all of my talents and success (if any) to God for blessing me with such a rewarding gift. I don’t know what i’d do with my life if i didn’t have music. But i’m infinitely grateful for it and i hope that you my friends see that in every single song.

This is the newest edition to my musical ensamble. His name is Johnny, named after Johnny Buckland of Coldplay AND after Johnny Lefler from Dashboard Confessional. Hope you guys get to see him in action soon.
Wow, 10,000 view! We really can’t believe it! It’s the first cover we have put up that got into the double thousand digits. Thanks so much to our fans and our friends who help to support us and for all the kind comments you put up on youtube, we are truly humbled by it. We will be doing more covers with other memebers of the band so you guys can meet more of us. Look for those soon!

autumnsflame asked: Welcome to Tumblr. :) Looking forward to all your upcoming stuff.
Thank you so much :) I’m hoping that it’s at least entertaining if nothing else.

This is the first official Double Or Nothing blog post! Aren’t you excited???….I said…AREN’T YOU EXCITED?? That’s better. It will be nice for us to use Tumblr for more detailed updates instead of just posting 2 sentences on our twitter or facebook. Most of these will probably be narrated by yours truly Nick or Derek. And if the others want to they can post something they willl. If you’re reading this now it probably means you have listened to our songs on itunes, seen us on youtube or Uvidy.com or even facebook. First off…thank you so much for your interest in our band and our music. This is something that means a great deal to us and we want YOU to be apart of it. We hope to continue to create something that is important to all our fans. So what’s next…ah yes! We will be making a few full band covers and putting them up on youtube soon. So expect those in a few weeks. We are currently entered into a contest to play warped tour for Salt Lake City Utah, more details will be revealed as it progresses. And lastly we are almost at 10,000 views for our cover of “Everybody Talks” by Neon Trees! Lots of things in the mix. Hopfully this gives you guys an idea of what we will be doing in the next couple of months. Be sure to life our facebook, subscribe to our youtube and keep in touch. Thank you so so much for your love and support. We hope to continue to entertain and inspire. Love your faces!
